Most appointments are 2 to 3 hours long, some may take up to 4. This is due to a number of factors, including pet temperment, coat condition, and unexpected interruptions to our work flow. But also we want to ensure that your pets are given individual attention and patience, and so we allow time for that.
We firmly believe that all pets can learn to at least tolerate the grooming patiently, if not enjoy it. It simply takes time to build the trust and use certain behavioural techniques to calm them during the appointment. We regularly work with clients who have been ‘fired’ by previous groomers due to behaviour concerns and are happy to see them thrive in our care.
For grooming appointments, we charge a $10 per hour care fee beyond the agreed-upon pick up time. For doggy day care, we charge a $10 per hour fee. We’ll never leave your animals behind and go home, but we do ask that to make the experience go smoothly for our other clients and our dedicated team that you strive to be on time.
We recommend every 6 to 8 weeks as a good period between grooms, depending on the season and how active your pet is outside (burrs and mud etc can cause matting and knots quicker, for example). Frequent grooming will mean that your appointment costs will be lower, as we’ll simply be maintaining the standard instead of bringing their coat back under control.
